I have have been fortunate enough to have a varied career serving as an Army Captain in the Royal Corps of Signals, Scientific Advisor to the UK Government and in various commercial organisations.

I am a techie at heart but don’t let that fool you I am an advocate for community movements. In 2010 off the back of the success of BSides San Francisco I co-founded and led the first ever UK BSides event in London. In the last 10 years I have continued to build and support BSides events throughout the UK and since 2014 I have co-run BSides Manchester.

I am an active supporter of a number community groups OWASP, Manchester Grey Hats and InfoSec Hoppers. I am also a contributor to ISSA, LLHS, I am the Cavalry, Cyber 9/12, Police Rewired and TechVets.
